Differences Between the inChain Licensing Models
inChain PORTAL
inChain PORTAL is a full-featured enterprise license.
It includes all sharing and publishing functions and enables the licensee to share or publish content (files and data) with business partners, employees, or third parties in a targeted manner via Portal Search.
inChain COMPETE
inChain COMPETE expands the functions of PORTAL and enables companies to individually map their own information using Topics and special design features.
With this license, columns, texts, and visualizations can be flexibly adapted and modeled to meet company-specific requirements.
inChain COMPETE++
Compared to inChain COMPETE, inChain COMPETE++ offers significantly expanded storage space as well as an additional workspace. This enables the internal separation of content within the company, particularly for heavy users or for different organizational units.
Data Retrieval
The key functions for data retrieval are the Cockpit with its overview features, the Portal Search, and the Business Partner Search.
Once a user has logged in as a registered user, they gain access to these functions. In addition, they can access data that has been shared with them.
The Public Portal Search should be distinguished from the Portal Search. The Public Portal Search allows users to retrieve freely accessible content. Data retrievals via the Public Portal Search are not documented in the audit trail; public users can be granted anonymous access to shared content.
Data Provision (Share)
By subscribing to a paid inChain PORTAL or inChain COMPETE pricing package, content—i.e., files and data—can be made available to business partners, employees, or other interested parties.
Optionally, authorized recipients can be automatically notified via email about newly available content. Additionally, there is the option to selectively make specific information available to the public via the Public Portal Search.
Data Compliance
Every file retrieval, every change, and every access is documented in the audit trail and can be analyzed. This ensures complete traceability of data access and changes.
yourPage
With yourPage get your own “homepage” within the inChain Cloud. With custom designs (logo, typography), layout, and links as desired. Instead of a table, a dashboard featuring tiles, logos, and links to selected content can also be designed. License fees for a yourPage upgrade are billed based on scope and effort and typically range between 100 and 300 EUR per month.
